Slot antenna for microwave ablation

This study presented the design and experimental validation of a dual-slot antenna for microwave ablation. Design was accomplished by numerical simulation and parametric analysis of the antenna geometry. The most optimal design produced a reflection coefficient of −20.9 dB and heating aspect ratio of 0.7 at the operating frequency of 2.45 GHz. Large and round ablation zones with microwave ablation: A ... A large and round ablation zone can be achieved by the proposed coaxial antenna. • A better time-varied S 11 curve is achieved by a new way for impedance match.. An aperiodic tri-slot layout on antenna is optimized to get a round ablation zone.
